Terms and Conditions
Our room prices are based on two people sharing a double en-suite room per night and includes breakfast. Guests may choose from our extensive breakfast menu. No more than two people can stay in each room.
All rooms are available for single occupancy with a deduction of £10 per night, but a minimum price of £70. We are sorry but we do not normally offer single occupancy discounts to our rooms in our main season, week-ends, bank holidays or special events. Single occupancy room prices of a minimum price of £70 is based on our classic rooms.
Our terms & Conditions
Check-in: You may check in between 4:pm and 8:pm however we would be very grateful if guests could provide us with a time window when you think you will be with us so we do not make any arrangements during your arrival window. We are also happy to offer check in from 10am to 12 noon, subject to the room being available, but please call or email us to esquire first (the charge is £15 per room for early check in). We request guests to allow travel delays into their arrival schedule to get to us before 8pm. Once guests have checked in you may come and go as you like with your own access keys. Please would you also keep us informed by phone text or email if your arrival time is likely to change.
Checkout: We ask guests to check out of their rooms by 10:30 please as a small business we do not employ lots of staff and we have to get the house ready for the next guests arrival. Believe us, it’s a lot more involved than you may think! If we can allow a later check out time, we charge an additional £15 per hour per room, or part hour to cover out extra staff cost. Please check with us as you check in.
Children: We regret that we do not usually accept children under the age of 15. As we do not have family rooms, children will require their own room and prices will be charged at our normal rates.
En-suite: Each en-suite is different. If you would prefer a bath or a walk in shower, please let us know at the time of booking. Although we cannot guarantee it, we will do our best to accommodate your preference.
Smoking: We operate a strict no-smoking policy throughout the building (this also applies to electronic cigarettes). . Smoking is permitted outside where ashtrays are provided. It is against the law to smoke in a building. Out of fairness to the next guest and to maintain our integrity as a clean and non-smoking establishment, please do not smoke in your bedroom. If we deem there to be a smell of smoke after your departure which disrupts or affects future bookings, we will make a charge to compensate us for this. It is usual for us to charge a minimum of an amount equal to a further night’s stay plus the cost of cleaning the room.
Damage: We reserve the right to charge for the replacement, cleaning or repair of any item(s) belonging to The Coach House or the fabric of the house itself, damaged either wilfully or because reasonable precautions have not been taken. In this event your card will charged without prior consent being required for the costs incurred
Lost Keys: On check in, you will be issued with a room key and a front door fob. It is your responsibility to ensure safety of your keys and key ring at all times and return them at the end of your stay on check out. Failure to do so will be subject to a minimum lost key charge of £25.
Parking: We have limited private car parking spaces for guests arriving by car. We cannot accept liability for any damage or theft to vehicles whilst parked within our car park and space is on a first come basis. We also have a 35 space public carpark behind our private carpark that is safe and free to park, so parking is never a problem.
Alcohol: We have our own alcohol licence. Guests are not allowed to consume their own beverages, alcoholic or otherwise in the public areas of the house or grounds due to our licensing restrictions.
Food: We have a snack menu available that can be viewed on our web site and happy to cook a special dish if you arrange it with us in advance. We ask our guest not to consume any others food apart from ours in the bedrooms or communal areas of The Coach House. Any takaway food consumed in our bedrooms will be charged to cover stains and lingering odours. Should you wish to take exclusive use of The Coach House with all bedrooms to celebrate a special occasion, we are happy to cater for a dinner party for you. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Pets: Although great animal lovers ourselves we can’t allow pets as sadly allergies are a problem these days. We do have our own dog but she is not given access to any part of the building that guests use.
Deposit: We only take your card number to hold the room and in the event of cancelation to charge the card. We may pre-authorise your card at the time of booking but no moneys are taken from your card at the point of booking. You can then settle the full booking amount at check out. Please not this must be in cash OR Bank transfer before arrival.
Cancellation: From time of booking to 28 days before the arrival date, we will charge 50% 0f the booking cost. After that time: (Less than 28 days but more than 14 days before the arrival date,) guests will be charge 60% of the total booking cost. Less than fourteen days but more than 7 before arrival date, guests will be charged 75% of the total booking cost. Seven days or less before day of arrival, guest will be charged 100% of the total booking cost.
If your stay with us is reduced: After you check-in with us, If for any reason your stay is cut short or you reduce the number of nights, rooms, people or monetry value of the total booking, full payment will be required for the remainder period of your booking and any cancellation charges will be charged to the card you used to book.
Circumstances Beyond Our Control: We cannot accept responsibility for unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. These include (but are not limited to) adverse weather conditions, fire, riot, war, terrorist activity (or threat of such activity), industrial dispute, natural disaster, or injuries and death of an individual(s) through accidental circumstances unconnected with The Coach House.
By making a booking you are accepting responsibility for any damage or loss caused by yourself or a member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or loss must be paid to the provider upon demand. If you fail to do so, you will be responsible for meeting any claims subsequently made (together with our own and the other party’s full legal costs) as a result of your actions.
Booking three or more rooms: If you wish to book three or more rooms, we will require payment of 50% of the total booking cost at your time of booking and the balance 28 days before your arrival date. Our cancellation policy will be applied to your booking and the 2.5% card charge applied.
Insurance: In common with all accommodation providers we strongly recommend that guests take out holiday insurance just in case you are forced to change your plans.
Payment at check out: We only take cash at time of check out (we do not take cards or cheques at this point) if you wish to pay by card, we will require the total booking cost to be paid for at time of booking. Please indicate that you wish us to charge the full booking cost in the comment section of the booking form.
Cards: As indicated above, we do not take any cards at departure, If you wish to pay on card you account must be paid for before arrival. If payment is required by card (before arrival) we will charge a 3% card fee to cover bank and card companys charges to us.
Payment by backs / online Payment: We are happy to take the deposit or the full booking amount by online payment with no charges to yourself – please ask for details.
Business traveler or Company Booking: If you wish to make a company booking for your team or individuals, please give us a call as we will be able to arrange payment by invoice or other ways that will be acceptable to you.
