"A great place to stay
“The Coach House is one of those rare finds that completely exceeds expectations. The accommodation on both my visits was first class, clean and very tasteful. Breakfast was amongst the best I've ever had.
Would highly recommend.”
Keith B , UK
“We had a fab 2 nights at the Coach house and our stay started with a warm welcome and a cup of tea. The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean with plenty of toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. The beds were comfortable and there was a nice touch of lavender quiet night sleep sprays for the pillows. Good choice of breakfast options in a lovely, calm dining room. We have stayed in many B & B's and this one is up there with the best - definitely worthy of 5 stars.”
“It is truly amazing...more than we could have ever wished for.
The suite is a huge room with all of the extras and amenities you could imagine. A comfy king size bed, relaxing area with sofa and large screen TV, fridge with goodies and French coffee press with fresh coffee, en-suite bathroom with huge free standing bath and separate shower with piping hot water.
As for the breakfast, wow!. A wide selection of options, cooked to order and presented with style (and grand size portions).
Kayt and Hugh made our visit incredible.”
“From the warm welcome on arrival to the friendly goodbye there was nothing we would change about this B&B.
Chris & Dave, Northampton, UK
“3 nights of rest, relaxation and wonderful, innovative breakfasts. We need to go back to try more of the menu! Everything they say on their website lives up to their claims. Their rooms really are home from home. Highly recommended.”
Julie, Edinburgh, United Kingdom
“The rooms are super clean, well decorated, lovely super king size beds (in Llewellyn), cracking breakfast, free parking and within walking distance of everything to see and do in Brecon. Would definitely stay here again and recommend without hesitation.”

“Yet another lovely 2 night stay at The Coach House. We come back here again and again and we can’t fault it. Book early as they are often full and bring your expandable waist trousers, the breakfasts are magnificent!”
“What a wonderful place! Clean comfortable, fantastic breakfasts, wonderfully friendly and accommodating. Book the suite it is wonderful!”
“This was a very pleasant weekend, spent in a welcoming relaxing place. Nothing is too much trouble and the breakfasts are excellent. Hope to visit again soon. Brecon is a lovely country town with plenty to see and do in the town and the surrounding areas. Lovely walking and beautiful countryside.”
Susan, Dartford, UK
“If this isn't the very best B&B in Brecon I would be very surprised, as it's difficult to see where it could be surpassed. Situated close to the centre of Brecon - just a short walk across the river bridge We've never come across such a varied and extensive breakfast menu, and the three options we chose over the two days were imaginatively presented and cooked superbly. Top marks in every respect.”
David Hawtin, UK
“Amazing”
We stayed for two nights at this B&B. The suite we stayed in was very "Classy" Every little detail was thought of, from little containers with lids that enclosed toffees or sweets. A bowl of fruit which contained Grapes, Oranges and apples was complements of the B&B which was very welcoming indeed after a long journey. A wonderful selection of tea, coffee and chocolate was on hand with the kettle and fresh milk. The huge comfy bed gave us both a great nights sleep. A wonderful breakfast was on hand every morning. Definitely book this B&B again.
“New year stay”
Had a lovely stay for the weekend on new years so comfortable and the owners are very friendly and helpful the rooms are stunning and we didn't want to leave so nice there and the breakfast is amazing too we had a lovely stay and hope to visit again I would highly recommend this lovely B&B

“Very comfortable enjoyable stay”
Another excellent stay at the very comfortable Coach House in Brecon. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are extremely well thought out and are very comfortable with some beautiful 'personal touches'. We always feel that they care very much about their guests. Breakfast is a delightful experience...beautifully presented and tasty local food. We look forward to our next visit.
Room Tip: Spoil yourself by booking the suite. It's particularly comfortable and a real pleasure.
“Our 8th visit says it all!!!”
The whole of the Coach House is well laid out, extremely clean and finely decorated. Service, especially breakfast, is excellent. Being on one of the main roads into Brecon there is some traffic noise but only really noticeable if windows are open. In addition to the small parking area the is a large FREE car park immediately behind the location. It is within easy walking distance of the town centre, so one does not have to join the jams in the narrow streets. We have already booked a return visit.
Room Tip: Top floor or at the back
“Great stay”
Recently stayed 4x nights as working in the local area. As I had to leave early most mornings I missed breakfast, however they provided me with a superb packed lunch. Accommodation was clean, tidied and treats replaced daily. Attention to detail was evident throughout, and the final morning breakfast was outstanding. Definitely recommend their version of Welsh rarebit!! I would... Simon M
“fantastic breakfasts”
We stayed four nights, using the Coach house as a base to explore the local area and walk the hills. It was fantastic. Our room was gloriously cosy to return to at the end of a cold December day out, and the breakfasts really set you up for the day. The choice was amazing, and everything we tried was excellent, from a classic bacon sandwich to smoked salmon and scrambled egg. My partner is vegetarian, and she was well catered for too.
“Excellent guest house”
Stayed here for one night. The owners are very friendly. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with everything you need. The bathroom has toiletries, and hairdryers are supplied. A lovely freshly cooked breakfast. Well recommended.
“Fabulous B&B”
Amazing place, beautiful, spotlessly clean luxurious rooms, friendly welcome, awesome food. The location is perfect just a few minutes walk into the town for the restaurants, bars and shopping but not right in the bustle of town which I prefer. Parking facilities are great which is always something that can be frustrating. It's a great base to walk from, sightsee and go to the theatre. We loved every moment and would loved to have stayed longer. Definitely a 5 star experience.
Room Tip: The suite is fabulous and worth the extra.
“First class accommodation at the heart of Brecon”
A fantastic property. Excellent attention to detail makes for a very enjoyable stay, and the breakfasts are incredible. We stayed in the mini suite which offers a luxurious and spacious place to spend a few days. Easy access to excellent walking country, plus the benefit of the owners' local knowledge, all add up to a first class destination. Highly recommended.
“Fantastic B&B”
We had a lovely one night stay. Fantastic room with a comfy bed and most definitely the best breakfast we have ever had! Very helpful hosts who helped us to find somewhere for dinner, and Brecon is a lovely town.
“Fabulous place, what a find!”
We stayed in the suite, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and really comfy and cosy. A lot of thought has gone into the planning of this room with amazing attention to detail: quality toiletries, a 'posh' coffee machine, fresh milk, fruit basket and even a jar of jelly beans! We arrived later than we expected but Marc was there in reception to welcome us and to make sure we had everything we needed including a list of restaurants in town for that evening. Breakfast was top notch, the welsh rarebit is a must, had to have it on both days! We will definitely be back.
“Fantastic Service ”
Stayed for one night whilst working in Brecon rooms are spotless breakfast was spot on and well cooked. Parking is good I was in a van and managed no problem
“Wonderful attention to detail”
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights while attending a Wedding a few miles away.
We had a really warm welcome which continued for the duration of our stay.
The food was amazing.
We were given a key fob in order to come and go which was great as we were out quite late both nights and didn't have to worry about disturbing other guests.
The room was so nice with a comfy bed, had the best nights sleep. Lovely little touches in the room including tea, coffee & biscuits and also sweets.
Great location, very central with only a few minutes walk into the town.
Would definitely stay there again. Keri E
“Fabulous stay”
Stayed for two nights second week in September and chose this place from Trip Advisor. We booked the suite and whilst a bit more expensive than we would normally pay it was worth it. The room was large and very well decorated and appointed. It had a large bathroom with both bath and separate shower. There was a mini bar and fridge and we were able to get fresh milk for coffee in the room which is always a nice touch. Lots of storage, a huge TV and a very comfy bed.
The food is amazing as many others have commented on. The hardest part is decided what to have...! Stunning Welsh rarebit and I also had the mushrooms and bacon on a muffin - sounds fairly average but it was superb and so tasty.
From welcome to check out extremely welcoming and very helpful with recommendations on restaurants and also local walks. The location is very handy for the town with a 10-15 min walk to the cathedral, castle hotel and restaurant (recommended) and shops. Parking available out the front on the street and no issue getting a space.
Thoroughly enjoyable stay and highly recommended. TGBWorcestershire
“Wow!”
Our stay could not have been better. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated. It was obvious by the attention to detail that a great deal of time and thought had gone into every aspect of the room.
The breakfast was not the best in Wales , it is surely the best in the U.K. The choice was vast and used local ingredients which were all cooked expertly and freshly.
We had many questions about the walks we wished to take and they were all answered with expert local knowledge and alternative suggestions.
Our stay was perfect and we hope to return.
Thank you ! Bob P
“The Coach House is one of a new breed, offering 5 star (GOLD) contemporary townhouse accommodation. The Hosts are full of local knowledge on the best places to visit, walk, cycle or ride. It's part of the Coach House's strong 'Sense of Place', which runs from photographs and maps of the Brecon Beacons on the walls to the Welsh delicacy breakfasts (try Eggs Brychan - scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and laverbread).
Everything in the Coach House has been well thought out. The light airy bedrooms are of the highest standard with attention to detail.”

“Fantastic place, great ambience”
The Coach House is one of those rare finds that completely exceed expectations.
The welcome was friendly and warm, the host taking time to point out places of interest in a map.
The accommodation on both my visits was first class, clean and very tasteful.
Breakfast in the morning were amongst the best I've ever had, generous and perfectly cooked.
Would highly recommend. Keith B
“Excellent accommodation and hosts”
After staying in five star hotels we had never considered a B&B before. However, we found the Coach House by accident on the web and booked it for a two day stay. Our expectations were really uncertain but what a surprise we had in this fantastic accommodation. The room was beautifully furnished with all that you could want. The food, well all we can say is make sure you are hungry as if you had all that was on the cooked breakfast menu you would not be able to move! Thank you to you both for making our stay so enjoyable.
Emma V, Bergen, Norway
“Excellent stay in Brecon”
The only bad thing about this hotel is that I can't take it with me as I travel!
Seriously - the wifi was the best we had in the UK (what is with the network here?), the rooms are modern, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast is amazing and the staff are personable, friendly, helpful and really make the experience nice. The car parks are plentiful (though they are public car parks - but very safe!) and while the hotel is expensive, you really are getting much more than you paid for. Heavily recommended
“B&B with Brilliant Breakfast”
You would never know how nice it was unless you stay there. Wonderfully comfortable rooms and a breakfast to die for. In all the years of staying in 5* hotels we have never had 20 choice of hot breakfasts all cooked to order. Only there 5 days so need to return to try out all the other options. Michelle F, Jersey,UK
“Perfect base for our holiday”
From the warm welcome on arrival to the friendly goodbye there was nothing we would change about this b&b. Our room was spacious and comfortable with attention to detail. Interest in our plans and useful suggestions ensured we did not miss the hidden gems such as the peaceful cathedral with its well run cafe and shop. These conversations took place over gorgeous breakfasts with the occasional Welsh lesson slipped in! We would definitely stay again as there is so much to see and do in the Brecon Beacons.
Room Tip: Stairs to the bedrooms. Our room was on the road but the noise did not disturb us. Chris and Dave W
“Relaxed luxury in town”
What a lovely place to stay.
Our room was comfortable and spacious and thoughtfully appointed, from the adaptable lighting to the fluffy bathrobes and fruit bowl and sweets in the room.
Breakfasts are brilliant, with lots of choice, including Welsh specialities, beautifully presented too.
On a practical note, The Coach House is a short walk past the ice cream shop and over The Usk to the town centre, and there is plenty of parking behind and in the street in front.
The garden at the back is lovely and secluded too.
What a find!
“Brilliant weekend stay”
3 nights of rest, relaxation and wonderful, innovative breakfasts. We need to go back to try more of the menu! Everything they say in their brochure lives up to their claims.
“Lovely weekend break ”
Fantastic b&b, was made to feel welcome the moment we arrived. Very clean to a high standard through out! Room was very modern and cosy slept very well. Food wow! One of the nicest cooked breakfasts I've ever had, was full all day, and lots to choose from the breakfast menu. Definitely book again. Julie M
“Review”
My wife and I have just attended a wedding in Brecon and we stayed 3 nights at The Coach House having been recommended the venue by friends. The only word to evaluate the service, facilities and food is excellent.
The friendly and caring service we received was superb and if we are staying in Brecon in the future we would not seek alternative accommodation and we would not hesitate to recommend it to our friends.
The breakfast menu was varied and superb quality.
Don't look further if you are lucky enough to find a vacancy. Davidreescoity
“Home from home”
Stayed for two nights in room 2. Good sized room and well furnished, with amenities ranging from plenty of hooks (always a bug bear of ours when you have a room with no hooks!) through to coffee machine, extensive range of teas, fresh milk, cookie jar, large screen TV and a jar of Skittles and another of toffees etc.
Excellent breakfast, cooked to order, tasty and beautifully presented.
Great location for exploring the Beacons. Parking available close by and a two minute walk into the town centre. 4DeltaMike
“Fantastic 5 Star B&B”
We booked room 2 a suite it was beautiful with a cosy warm feeling and a great big comfy bed, beautiful bathroom, coffee machine and style and elegance.
Space to sit and a watch a large tv was a great way to relax after a day in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
Can't praise the wonderful breakfast enough supplied from a great selection.

“incredible service and luxury amongst the welsh mountains”
We spend two nights at the coach house and would go back in a heartbeat. not only were the owners incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room (Islwyn) was very luxurious and they use the latest technology and modern comforts to accommodate you. the bed and shower were incredibly comfortable which is very pleasant after a days walk in the beacons. The owner also managed to give us very valuable info for walking in the neighbourhood. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of options (welsh and other). they offer a few private parking spots at the back of the property. annelien v
“Modern, luxury B&B”
This was our third stay at the Coach House. These days it's more like a hotel than a b&b, and I mean that very much in a positive way. All mod cons, very comfortable, luxury accommodation, with first class breakfasts. Yet still with a b&b welcome and charm.
“Gold Award-winning B&B”
If this isn't the very best B&B in Brecon I would be very surprised, as it's difficult to see where it could be surpassed. Situated close to the centre of Brecon - just a short walk across the river bridge - it's a traditional town house with a modern, well furnished interior. Their web site talks about 'setting new standards for Brecon' and a 'high standard of accommodation' and I would entirely agree with those sentiments. We've never come across such a varied and extensive breakfast menu, and the three options we chose over the two days were imaginatively presented and cooked superbly. Top marks in every respect. David Hawtin
“Touring trip”
Very clean place, breakfast choice vast and very good. Room at top of building so bathroom a tad small but on the whole great place. The owner even gave us bottles of water for our trip, a nice touch. Great base for the Brecons. Try new micro brewery bar The Brecon Tap great beers and pies. Sue D
“A very enjoyable stay.”
A very friendly welcome awaited us when we eventually checked in. The room was comfortable ...we were worried it may have been a little noisy as we were facing the road but it was fine. The bed was soooo comfy we slept really well. It's worth going to the Coach House just for the breakfast. Don't eat the night before! Delicious. I would certainly recommend The Coach House and would be very happy to return. Towzer W
“Fantastic B&B - Great BIG Beds”
We stayed for two nights in May for our anniversary. The owners couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are super clean, well decorated, lovely super king size beds (in Llewellyn), cracking breakfast, free parking and within walking distance of everything to see and do in Brecon. Would definitely stay here again and recommend without hesitation. Lindy
“Lovely relaxing stay”
Reviewed 27 April 2016
Had a lovely stay in Brecon at The Coach House. Beautifully decorated rooms, love the little enclosed garden area and the breakfast was fabulous. The bacon in particular was lovely - not too salty and nothing artificial about any of the food. Felt really home cooked to perfection. There was a very warm welcome too. The owner/manager is very friendly and helpful. Ann G
“Great locaton - magnificent breakfast.”
We stayed for just two nights in eary April. We were out and about a lot during our stay but to come back to smart, clean carefully decorated rooms and to be greeted each morning with a wonderful range of breakfast options was a real joy. We would highly recommend The Coach house and hope to return.
“Top notch hospitality”
Stayed at the coach house weekend of 8th April. The décor is superb lots of Farrow and Ball colours and very tastefully done. Our room was lovely although did not spend lot of time in it as watching rugby all day Saturday. The breakfast is superb portions are huge and we did not need lunch on either Saturday or Sunday. The choice is vast and the presentation out of this world. Never been to Brecon before but we will definitely be back and would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Karen Gray
“Great location, superb service, wonderful food”
Location fantastic, two minute walk into town over the bridge. Parking out back and a lovely little garden. General décor of the hotel is very tasteful. The room was exceptionally comfortable, very clean and had everything you could need in terms of shampoo, conditioner, bubble bath, soap... the list goes on. Teas and coffees with a kettle as well as treats 🙂 everyone loves a free treat! Free WiFi in room too. Breakfast was fantastic, a whole menu of Welsh food to choose from cooked fresh by the lovely owner. Would highly recommend this hotel. Yvette A
“Lovely B&B”
Stayed here for a weekend break in the Brecon Beacons in March. What an absolutely lovely place to stay. Top quality, comfortable accommodation for what I considered reasonable prices. The breakfast is made to order and they encourage you to try something different each day. We were never disappointed. The owners are friendly and made us feel at home, always checking to ensure that we enjoyed the accommodation but also our daily walks. They also have great suggestions of what to see and do in the area. I would definitely recommend the Coach House for your next trip to the Beacons. Chinua B
“Little Gem”
A lovely weekend break in Brecon and we found a little gem in The Coach House. Had the Llewelyn room at the top of building and very comfortable. Contemporary, clean and modern decoration. The personal touches were obvious to be seen throughout the coach house and made for a very nice stay. A very good find and 5 star so worth it. Location is perfect just a 5 minute stroll into town with everything you would need for an evening out. The scenery was breathtaking. Made even better by the lovely weather we were lucky to have had. Breakfast is very good! With a variety of choice. All in all we had a great weekend and when we do return we will be staying at The Coach House again. Very relaxing, was left alone to come and go as we pleased but on hand if we did need anything. Thank you. Sharon & Nick (Penny)
Room Tip: If tall then i would say choose a room at the top of the house like The Llewelyn
“Fabulous Boutique Hotel”
Yet another lovely 2 night stay at The Coach House. We come back here again and again and we cant fault it. Book early as they are often full and bring your expandable waist trousers, the breakfasts are magnificent!
“Wonderful”
Run by a couple of great guys, who are happy to help you with directions, shopping and all manner of things to do. Clean, quiet and the breakfast is top notch. Perfect for Christ College and central Brecon. Parking available and location is ideal. Value for money. Stuart G
“Hidden gem!”
What a wonderful place! Clean comfortable, fantastic breakfasts and the wonderfully friendly and accommodating Marc. We really cannot praise this B&B enough. They have thought of every last detail - and nothing is too much trouble. Book the suite it is wonderful!
Mr_&_Mrs_Smith4real
We have just spent 2 nights in the fantastic suite at the Coach House. The whole room is outstanding with everything you could want and more. The room is huge with a lovely sitting area that has a 50in flat screen TV with now tv free for movies on demand. There is a tassimo coffee maker and a mini fridge with fresh milk and a selection of drinks and wine. The bathroom was my dream space with a claw foot bath and separate shower. All the little touches in the room just make this a very special place to stay. The cooked breakfast was the best we have ever had in a hotel with very high quality local butchers sausages and bacon perfectly cooked. The owners were so friendly and helpful recommending places to eat and offering to book a table for us. We cannot recommend this place highly enough.
Room Tip: Book the suite it's worth the extra expense Jane Jenkins
“Beautiful place ”
A massive thanks to The Coach House for a fantastic stay. This place is truly special and the breakfasts are out of this world. The rooms are spotless and Mark and Tony were great hosts. We went to Brecon for a chill out walking holiday and Mark was fantastic with his advice about where to go, he went above and beyond to help us. I really recommend this hotel and the management for a wonderful stay. James C
We stayed at the Coach house on the last weekend of January. We have a lovely weekend. The breakfast was gorgeous! and the room was beautiful, very clean and nice and cosy! Charlotte B
“Very very happy”
I booked this B&B as a Christmas present for my elderly parents based on the excellent trip advisor reviews this place had received over the past few months. I was not disappointed since my parent returned with nothing but praise for their wonderful stay at what they described as a 5star accommodation with excellent hosts. They will be returning soon....
“A Relaxing refuge Against the Storm”
Thank you so much for looking after us again. We always feel pampered and treasured when we come... lovely homely feel..so clean and tidy. everything is top quality and so much nicer that some 5 star hotels we have stayed in . Breakfast was delicious
“RELAXING WELCOMING PLEASANT WEEKEND”
This was a very pleasant weekend, spent in a welcoming relaxing hotel. The rooms are light and airy, with very pleasant clean modern decor. Very comfortable surroundings in the whole place. Nothing is too much trouble, and the Breakfasts are excellent, and such a variety of choice. Well done. Many recommendations to family friends and colleagues already made by us so impressed with The Coach House. Hope to visit again soon.
Brecon is a lovely country town with plenty to see and do in the town and the surrounding areas. Lovely walking and beautiful countryside to see.
The people everywhere we went were pleasant and polite. Would most certainly go back again.
Room Tip: Although on a main road at night it was very quiet, especially on the top floors.

“Whisked Away in Winter”
Even the most independent women like to be whisked away once in a while. After a disappointing summer and a stressful autumn Christmas peace and joy wasn't boding well. Recognising this, my not usually very romantic partner booked us a weekend in the Coach House. It really is a fantastic place to relax.
I thought I had the most comfortable bed in the world but this super king is hard to leave. Worth it though, for the beautifully cooked breakfast. After we'd eaten welsh breakfast and salmon and eggs with lava bread we went back up to our room which was too nice to leave yet. We spent a perfect morning with movies on demand and soaks in the beautiful bath with the orange blossom scented products. A well stocked mini bar, fresh milk, good lighting, helpful recommendations for dinner and a breathtaking drive through the beacons all added to the sense of escapism.
I would recommend this hotel to any good man whose wife needs whisking away! Lily P
“Weekend stay with family.”
This is the eighth b&b we have stayed in this year, and by far and away the best.
The attention to detail in the room was incredible, and the quality and choice of breakfasts was amazing.
Definitely the best place we have stayed in Brecon. John P
“Stay away A LOT”
Through the course of my work I have to stay away at least three nights a week every week. The Coach House is probably (if not ) the best B &B you could wish for . I stay here a lot the hosts are fantastic, breakfast is a delight and the rooms are exceptional, and the price (not that I pay, but the company does) is really good value. Over the years I have gravitated to 'chain' type accommodation, because you know what you'll get no nasty surprises, but the Coach house is my regular stop off in Wales and I always recommend it to friends , I have also taken the family there on more than one occasion. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Nicholas J
“Sublime”
Everything about the Coach House from the well appointed rooms -what attention to detail!-, to the delicious breakfast, to the friendly and helpful hosts was perfect. My only regret was that we could not have stayed for longer. Jamaicagigi
“This is certainly the best place we have stayed in Brecon”
The room was very comfortable and well thought out. The en-suite was of a good standard and the tea/coffee making facilities very good. Breakfast was outstanding with many delicious Welsh dishes to savour. David C
“Best Breakfast choice”
Stayed at the Coach House for three nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We'd read the breakfasts were good but that was an understatement! Never seen a menu like it before and the food was excellent. Had a great time in Brecon, Max Boyce at the theatre, a walk along the Brecon canal, visit to Brecon cathedral, listened to the local male voice choir in rehearsal and a most interesting visit to a local pub! Able to leave the car in one place as everything was so close.
“The best place to stay in Brecon”
Once you've stayed at The Coach House you will want to return. We have been coming to Brecon regularly for many years and it's our first choice and favourite by a mile. The attention to detail is phenomenal and the breakfasts are like fine dining. There's an ambiance of calm tranquillity and beautiful tastefully decorated rooms, spotlessly clean throughout and equipped with every comfort. Guests receive a warm welcome and The Coach House is ideally situated with some guest parking spaces on site and a car park behind.
Room Tip: Book early - it fills up! Always worth phoning to ask if any cancellations.
“Very Comfortable”
We last stayed at the Coach House 5 years ago and were very pleased to find that the standard of accommodation is still as high as it was then. The room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent shower. The breakfast was fabulous. The Coach House is ideally situated being only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Brecon, where there are restaurants and pubs. Car parking is free in the public car park adjacent to the property. We hope to return again (in less than 5 years this time!). Brian O
“Good Location”
Good place to stay with extra luxuries, helpful owners and wonderful breakfasts. Very helpful with storing bikes, local restaurants and places to visit. We had room 5 which only has a small double but a quiet room.
“Wonderful gem in Brecon!!!”
Wonderful location, incredible hospitality, adorable accommodation and fantastic host! We really enjoyed our stay at Coach House. The place was a little plain from the street view but inside it was a cosy comfy beautiful country house. The garden and grounds in the back were incredible as well! Mark, our gracious host, made us the most incredible breakfast 2 days in a row! We got to choose from a full menu of incredible options! 10 min drive from the peaks in the park, 5 min walk into centre of Brecon, amazing place that couldn't have been more beautiful comfortable and hospitable!
Room Tip: King sized bed options! Real king bed, not beds pushed together

“Another fantastic stay!! ”
Returned for yet another stay at the Coach House for the Brecon Jazz weekend. Stayed in the newly refurbished suite which was very spacious and tastefully decorated offering a selection of tea, coffee, minibar, toiletries, robes, slippers and ironing facilities. It has been very well thought out to suit everyone's needs. The breakfast still remains fantastic offering so much choice and really sets you up for the day. All in all another great stay. With the local knowledge, warm welcoming, luxurious accommodation, amazing breakfast, these are the reasons we continue to return to the Coach House. We would highly recommend you certainly won't be disappointed. Keep doing what you are doing as its to 'PERFECTION!!' Hope to see you soon on our next visit. Leon and Sara
“Excellent accommodation and great friendly service”
Our family stayed for three nights at The Coach House, Brecon and found the accommodation, service and menu second to none. We have stayed in many 5* hotels over the years and can honestly state without doubt that this hotel cannot be bettered in terms of its cleanliness, decor and friendly service. The breakfasts are a culinary feast. Cynthia D
“Gorgeous relaxing weekend”
Go and stay here! It's totally wonderful - luxurious, quiet, divine breakfasts, polite, helpful and all in all much better than many hotels all at a reasonable price. We hope to visit again. Local knowledge and information shared was tremendous as was the warmth of welcome and attention to detail throughout. My favourite detail? Four plain coat hangers and four white ones for him and her. Did I mention the bathrobes, slippers and Rioja?
“anniversary weekend at the coach house!”
My husband and i stayed at the coach house for a a joint wedding / anniversary weekend. The proprietor was very helpful. We were able to book in early to get ready for the wedding and a taxi was arranged for us to get to the venue.
We stayed in the newly refurbished suite, which was tastefully decorated and fully equipped with a selection of tea, coffee, mini bar and toiletries. Ample free parking to the rear of guesthouse.
Lovely selection for breakfast. Very clean, well maintained guest house. We will be returning! highly recommended.
Room Tip: go for the suite with roll top bath!

“A pleasant surprise”
Being used to staying in hotel chains with their dull but reliable uniformity it was with slight nervousness that I viewed the prospect of staying in a b&b. What good fortune it was to stay in the Coach House. A pleasant well equipped room with an excellent shower and a comfortable bed with good quality pillows. Breakfast was an unusual but spectacular surprise. Smoked salmon scrambled egg with laver bread - unforgettable. The owners should feel proud of their achievement of establishing a modern comfortable living space that puts others to shame. Personally I'd drop the b&b tag and refer to it as a boutique hotel
“Amazing breakfasts!”
4 mates on a walking weekend in the Brecon Beacons. We stayed at the Coach House and found it to be extremely comfortable, offering good facilities and amazing breakfasts. Our hosts were very friendly and full of useful advice on walking routes. HamishTG
“Another memorable stay for 3 nights”
I always look forward to my breaks at the Coach House. It was a cold three days in the Beacons with snow on a couple of days. There are constant improvements being made in the small hotel. I enjoy hearing about these and chatting with the proprietors who are charming and knowledgeable. Breakfasts remain fantastic and the rooms are cosy
Victoria and Davey
We stayed at the Coach House for 2 nights while we were in the area participating in a charity trek in the Brecon Beacons and it was great for what we wanted. The accommodation is contemporary, stylish and comfortable. As we were up and away early the owners made up a breakfast pack for us. The person who checked us in was lovely, knowledgeable and helpful. The highlight was breakfast. The best breakfast menu I've seen in any hotel. I stay in different hotels weekly and have not seen a menu like it. Choice, quality, creativity and taste...it had it all. We had Welsh rarebit with bacon and eggs. Just what we needed. Great location, nice people, smart accommodation and an outstanding breakfast!
“Perfect”
Welcoming, comfortable, tasteful. Beautiful breakfast. Charming hosts. Cannot fault it. It is the nicest B&B we've ever stayed in. Perfect retreat after a long walk. We'll definitely be back. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
“Must get up for breakfast!”
We stayed here for 3 nights whilst attending a wedding in Brecon and what a find! A wonderful and friendly welcome from Marc who gave us helpful tips for places to visit on our free day and helped arrange our taxi to the wedding. The B and B is tastefully decorated throughout and the bedroom was really comfortable. The breakfasts are A-MAZ-ING!! So much choice...... so few days 🙂
“Excellent”
Venue chosen by friends who stayed here last year - would highly recommend and will stay again when next in the area. Stayed with our friends on a long weekend break for walking in the Brecon Beacons. Really enjoyed our stay - well appointed, comfortable accommodation with superb breakfast menu - cooking and presentation second to none! Well situated for exploring the area - well worth a visit.

“May Bank holiday weekend”
Myself and my husband stayed at this great B&B for one night over the May Bank holiday weekend.
We had a warm welcome and an easy to understand run down of the protocols.
Our room was on the top floor and was cosy and comfortable. High standard of cleanliness in both the bedroom and bathroom.
There was great care taken to promote 'Welshness', in a contemporary manner whilst still embracing the traditional with small details such as the painting of 'Salem', on the stairwell wall.
We were given advice on places to eat and local attractions.
The breakfast was perfect! There were great choices and we opted for the 'full Welsh', breakfast.
We heartedly recommend this establishment. Keep up the great work! Da iawn! Zöe B
“Amazing breakfast”
While the room was comfortable and cosy, with a cute bathroom tucked under the eaves, the star here was breakfast. Absolutely wonderful. And so filling we weren't hungry for lunch! Excellent location outside the centre but a short walk to everything. Edythe K
“A real gem of a hotel!”
Such a warm greeting after a very long drive, helped me relax immediately. The hotel décor throughout is excellent and of a very high standard, breakfast was superb and such surprising attention to detail when the rooms were serviced, you'd think you'd just arrived again. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this hotel and will be returning soon. Claire L
“Best B&B ever, a New Years Eve Oasis!”
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Coach House for 2 days over New Years. We chose to stay here because of the great reviews and location in the national park, and we were NOT disappointed! Our host was amazingly friendly, and very approachable. We had the best Welsh breakfast I have ever tried; our first time eating rarebit :).
The room itself was clean and the bed very comfortable. And, despite being right the road into Brecon, and the poor weather, the room was an oasis of calm and quiet.
We were given some great tips on walks and nearby restaurants and I personally loved all the little touches about the place, such as the maps of the national park and the Welsh pillows. ladysadie9
“A truly outstanding B&B!!”
My partner and I have stayed in a number of good and bad hotels over the years with work and this B&B puts some of the good hotels to shame! We used the B&B as a base for walking and mountain biking over the Easter weekend. The bikes were locked securely away in the shed on arrival. We were shown our room and given a local map of the town to find our way around and places to eat helpfully marked out on it. The breakfast menu was outstanding and became my favourite part of the day! So much choice and having tried a number of the menu items it was all awesome! A lovely touch Sunday morning to turn over our coffee cups and find an Easter egg. Mark was very helpful with advice on where to go etc and interested in what we were up to without prying! I for one could not recommend this B&B enough! The area is outstanding and so is this B&B.
“A great place to stay”
My husband and I and two friends stayed for 3 nights at the Coach House last weekend. What a fantastic place. Our room was beautifully appointed, clean and comfortable, as was the whole place. The owners made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were given ideas as to where to go and what to see as well as advice on where to eat. The breakfast menu was outstanding with plenty of choice. The menu had Welsh items on it which were very tasty. The food was beautifully cooked and presented - other hotels could learn a thing or two from the chef.
“An excellent place to stay”
We stayed here last weekend for perhaps the sixth or seventh time. Once again we were visiting relatives in Brecon. This is an excellent B&B with beautifully furnished warm bedrooms and all you could want in a room. The breakfast was, as normal, excellent with a traditional Welsh theme. The porridge is to die for and the Eggs Brychan excellent. Don't go for the full Welsh breakfast unless you are hungry. Having had a good breakfast you will not need much for lunch but if you do they do an excellent packed lunch.
The location is just a short walk from the town centre with a council car park behind the property.
They are also especially keen to welcome walkers and cyclists with a separate drying room for wet kit.
All in all an excellent place to stay and a credit to the owners. We will be back again soon.

My partner and I recently stayed 3 nights at the Coach House. The hosts were helpful and friendly.
The bedroom & small en suite bathroom were spotless, tastefully decorated and the bed was really comfortable.
The breakfast was outstanding and set you up for the day! There was a choice of juice, yoghurt, fruit and cereal to start. You could then choose from a selection of cooked options, which we varied during our stay. Without exception, the quality and quantity of each dish could not be faulted. Their breakfasts should be the bench mark for all breakfasts wherever you stay and were worthy of a 5* hotel.
The accommodation is on a main road into Brecon, but there was no road noise. It is within a short walk of the centre of Brecon and various restaurants.

“Superb”
My wife booked this B&B as we were attending a friend’s wedding held at the Barn at Brynach. A wonderful reception from the host, room was fabulous (rm 7) and modern, lovely big bed that was not to hard or too soft. Beautiful all throughout and s very clever way of entering via a fob system rather than keys to get into the building. Breakfast was a feast and our compliments went to the chef as it was great food. I'm Welsh and hate to admit it that I've never had Welsh rarebit until I stayed here. It blew me away. Soft, fluffy, mustardy cheesy goodness covered with an egg and crispy bacon, mmmm. sky_traveller007
“Cosseted and cared for at the Coach House!”
My daughter and I recently spent a couple of nights at the Coach House and were very well looked after. We each had our own rooms at the front - the rooms were very comfortable and what really impressed me was the attention to detail in everything, the toiletries in the bathroom, the coverlets on the bed etc etc. The breakfasts were to die for - I had their wonderful Welsh Rarebit one morning and a mountain of mushrooms and bacon on a muffin with some laver bread the next, and was able to motor up the hills no problem with that fuel inside me! It was very central, just a 5 minute walk into the centre of town, so very convenient. Clive B
“Perfect Stay”
Spent a very comfortable stay at the Coach House. Superb room displaying high standards and attention to detail. The high quality toiletries were a much appreciated luxury after a long and stressful day at work. The owners were so welcoming and friendly - I felt like they were old friends! ...... And the breakfast! Well, just awesome and a perfect end to a perfect stay. I'll definitely be back! Huge thanks. Anne O
“wonderful stay in Brecon”
The Coach House in Brecon is the best b&b we've ever stayed in with the best breakfast range imaginable! The standard of accommodation was superb, small but perfectly formed......the welcome was exceptional and we would not hesitate to thoroughly recommend it to everybody. We stayed for two nights and would love to return for a longer stay next time. Brecon is a delightful place and The Coach House is very central with everything within easy walking distance - a perfect base for walkers & cyclists. Some good restaurants as recommended (particularly the Italian), and we just cannot praise the chef and his beautifully presented breakfasts highly enough - superb amazing range of dishes on the menu - wonderful - just go there!! Jan Mills
“Outstanding”
This is one of the best B+Bs I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. The attention to detail in the rooms and rest of the building is tremendous. We stayed 3 nights for the jazz festival with the Coach house being totally flexible with our coming and goings. Proud of the welshness of the area, it run through everything they do for a great experience. Congratulations and thanks. Canny C
“Home from home”
I just love this gem of a place; the attention to detail is second to none. It's extremely comfortable, clean and welcoming. I was on business when I stayed here but have to say I can't wait.
The best breakfast menu and the best buck rarebit I have tasted complimented by a fantastic rhubarb and apple compote.
Well done and I look forward to seeing you again Giuliani
“Beautiful Brecon”
We stayed for 2 nights and can honestly say this is one of the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in. We received a warm and friendly welcome. Rooms were to a very high standard, large enough and well equipped with toiletries and beds very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of options. Nothing was too much for our hosts to advise and assist on during our stay. Thanks. Gary H
“11 out of 10”
We stayed just one night when in Brecon for a wedding, we were very impressed allowed to book in early in order that we could get changed into our wedding clothes, discovered tie wasn't packed so problem on a Sunday in Brecon, however, our host offered a selection of his ties choosing a perfect match, what service. We loved our room, very comfortable and beautifully presented. Breakfast was truly amazing, an interesting and varied selection on offer and of excellent quality, delicious. Highly recommend.
Room Tip: We were in room 4 on first floor at front but there was no noise problem. John F
“Highly recommend”
We stayed here for two nights in May when visiting the national park and would highly recommend it.
We received a warm and friendly welcome and were offered plenty of advice and suggestions to make the most of our time there.
The room, halls and breakfast room were all tastefully modern and well presented, and the property was also very clean and comfortable.
Best of all, the freshly cooked breakfasts were amazing and there was plenty to choose from! Nicola J
“Best Breakfast Ever!”
Fabulous Bed and Breakfast with very attentive hosts. Beautifully presented rooms, lovely garden and comfy beds. The Coach House has the best breakfast menu I have ever seen, all perfectly cooked. Thank you for a happy, relaxing weekend away.
“Amazing from start to finish.”
Stayed for 2 nights and can honestly say the coach house is the best we've ever stayed in. As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome. Rooms were to a high standard and well equipped and beds very comfortable. Loved all the attention to detail throughout, very unique and individual. The breakfast was delicious all local produce and a huge selection. We will definitely return in the future and will highly recommend to our friends and family. First class. Da Iawn ! Leon and Sara
“Absolutely Fabulous!”
We gave just had a superb 2-night stay at the delightful Coach House. Every review in here - totally glowing - is spot on. The building is very tastefully renovated with clean, modern lines and thoughtful decorative objects/art. The whole place is spotlessly clean and everything is of very good quality. Our bedroom was at the back of the property and very quiet - aside from the birds:)
The bed was super comfy with high quality linens/duvet. The room was well equipped with good attention to detail - cotton wool etc. Shower gels/body wash etc were really lovely. Breakfast is absolutely amazing - all cooked to order and a great selection of cereal/fruit etc. A really warm welcome each morning - Bore Da - and a lovely bright dining room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return. This is a good chance that anywhere else we stay may not reach such high standards!
“Better than first class.”
Stayed for one night (not long enough ) whilst on a business trip. The warm welcome was
followed by a tour of the room which was extremely clean and very tastefully decorated as was the whole property. We were advised where to eat that night and the advice was spot on. However, the best was yet to come. The following morning prior to departure we went for breakfast and what a breakfast it was. The menu is just amazing, far better than some prestige hotels. Orange juice and fresh fruit followed by a full Welsh cooked breakfast set me up for the rest of the day, in fact I did not eat again until our evening meal. I can't recommend The Coach House enough, I will definitely stay there again if I find myself in the area. ROBERT W
“Perfect weekend stay.”
Booked into this charming little b+b for a weekend in May for our friends wedding in Brecon. From the minute we arrived we received a great welcome. I must mention the attention to detail throughout the accommodation was spot on. The whole property was decorated to a high standard. From the hallways to the actual bedrooms. Everything required in the bedrooms was to hand. Bed perfect. I must also mention the breakfast menu and delicious food. The choice was amazing and the presentation just as good. Overall a perfect stay. And I highly recommend this b+b.
“Contemporary loveliness”
Friendly hosts, local information provided, spotlessly clean, located very near the centre. The breakfast is quite special. Lots of local delights cooked to perfection. Fresh fruit and a yoghurt so creamy, I thought I had gone to the wrong jar! Well run and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.
“The only place to stay”
Stayed in the coach house for a weekend stay returning to my birth place. From the minute you walk through the door you just know that its going to be a lovely place to stay. The coach house has a great feeling of warmth. We stayed in room 7 for 2 nights on the top floor up a couple of flights of stairs and the room was just so. Very well maintained and everything required for your stay, robes nice toiletries, and all the nice finishing touches to make the room homely and worthy of its 5 star rating, Breakfast can only be described as exceptional.... say no more.
“Excellent Accommodation!”
We were looking for a hotel/ guest house for a weekend visit to Brecon and saw that the Coach House had excellent reviews on Trip Advisor so decided to book for two nights. We were not disappointed! The rooms are beautiful with lots of little personal touches. Bathrobes, slippers and lovely toiletries are all included. Everything was absolutely spotless and the owners could not do enough for us.
Breakfast was amazing, my diet went straight out of the window, equalling that of any 5 star restaurant.
We will definitely be returning! lizziewHove
“Delightful B and B with charming hosts”
Reviewed 17 March 2014
My partner and I have just had a fantastic two night stay at The Coach House. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and well-appointed rooms. The bed was comfortable and there was a nice hot shower and lovely toiletries. Others had commented on the quality of the breakfasts and I assumed they were exaggerating, but they weren't - absolutely delicious, lovingly made with fresh local ingredients, and such generous portions we didn't need lunch on our way home! They have the best breakfast menu I have ever seen in a hotel or B & B, and I particularly recommend the Welsh rarebit. My partner is a vegetarian and there were lots of good choices for her too, not just the 'ordinary breakfast with the meat taken out' which you sometimes get.
There is a free public car park right behind the Coach House and the town centre is a short (five mins) walk away. There is a lounge area with books (including walk books) where you can sit and have a drink before dinner.
Most important of all though is the welcome you receive from the hosts, who are warm and friendly and full of useful information. They couldn't have made us feel more at home.
“Brilliant”
We had needed to have somewhere to stay in Brecon town for a weekend break to include a concert at the Theatr Brychyniog on the Saturday night. We had looked at many local B&Bs in Brecon but kept coming back to the Coach House. We were not disappointed! It was good value for money and the breakfast was amazing! We couldn't believe the choice and they were more than happy to mix and match with these choices and change portion sizes on asking! It was very clean and comfortable with a good contemporary taste in décor, which was part of the original attraction. We will be back for the concert next year and most likely in the summer for some hill walking and exploration. Lynn H
“Perfect”
Just got home from a lovely two night stay at this b&b, I was not disappointed! We had a lovely warm welcome & were shown to our room with a little tour 1st 🙂 The bed was so comfortable, plenty of pillows & blankets. Breakfast was amazing, best breakfast I ever had. On the 1st night I was cold (I'm always cold ha) so I asked about the heating & the following night the room was boiling, no problem at all 😀 The rooms were very clean, they even put some of our stuff away, couldn't fault it. They make so much effort with everything, that's was makes it so nice. It was so calm & peaceful here, the smell was beautiful & they had candles everywhere. Perfect for relaxing. Can't wait to return in the summer Katrina W

“Fantastic.”
Stayed at The Coach House in Brecon, must say it was absolutely fab, right from the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were treated with a first class service, the establishment is immaculate , the bedrooms were the best I have ever stayed in, the choice of food was to die for.
“A perfect, cosy B&B”
I stayed here with my partner for two nights late September for a wedding in the area. We had the perfect stay - we took one of the superior rooms on the top floor and it was fantastic. Beautiful decor, thoughtfully done and very comfortable, spacious and luxurious. The hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was gorgeous - so yum. The B&B is also perfectly located for a stroll into Brecon. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this accommodation to anyone. Megan K
“Cosy and modern...the perfect B&B”
After hearing good things about the Coach House from a friend, we decided to visit over half term. And, we weren't let down. We stayed in Room 6 which was really spacious with a king size bed, a TV/DVD, wifi, en suite and lots of little extras, such as Kitkats and toffees, plus some posh toiletries. It was cosy, clean and beautifully decorated-perfect for a short break. Breakfast: incredible. There were two sides to the menu-such a selection and I was sad not to be able to try everything but do try the Caws Pobi (rarebit) and laver bread if you visit - both were delicious and filling- we didn't need to eat until dinner! Location was very central to the town centre and we were made to feel very welcome throughout. The owners were very accommodating too: even drying out our shoes overnight after a long walk up to Pen Y Fan in torrential rain!
We had a wonderful stay at the Coach House and will tell our friends and family to visit.
“Wonderful B&B, good food and good accommodation”
A really warm welcome awaits the traveller in Brecon at this B&B. Although the exterior is uninspiring, don't let street view put you off. The bedrooms (we took 3) were all beautifully appointed with modern clean decor and lots of generous touches, really comfortable and just like home. The hosts were just right: very welcoming and kind, and understanding of our filthy bikes (we'd been cycling up the canal from Newport), helping us out and giving us space to sort ourselves out. The breakfast was exceptionally good - lots of choice and very Welsh. Free toffee, too - who could ask for more.
“Relaxing for a mini break in beautiful Brecon.”
An excellent breakfast, a comfortable bed and friendly, helpful hosts. The Coach House is spotless and tastefully decorated with some original art and some lovely pieces of furniture. Although the Coach House is close to the road insulation is very good and noise was not an issue. The breakfasts were well cooked and presented and hearty...plenty of choice and some originals here. Welsh rarebit Pen y Fan was delicious and beautifully presented. It is a short walk to town which has a couple of good restaurants.
I will return for another break for sure! Recommended
“Home away from home”
My partner and I only stayed here for the 1 night just over a week ago when passing through the area and I booked based on the location and the reviews online - I'm pleased to say it did not disappoint! It was incredibly clean throughout, was modern, spacious and had everything you could possibly need in the room (I have to add that the bed and pillows felt as though I was sleeping on a cloud!). The host was really welcoming and informative answering any questions we had on exploring the local area and provided us with all the little extra touches such as bath robes so it really felt like you were at home. There is off road parking to the rear and the house itself is very secure. Being a Welsh girl myself, I really loved all the finishing touches in the house and I have to say the breakfast was the best I've had in many, many years! Overall, an incredibly outstanding place to stay, was great value for money and I'd definitely stay here again.
Thanks again for everything!
Room Tip: Llywelyn superior king on the top floor was really nice and quiet
“Outstanding”
What a great place to stay, clean and tidy. Breakfast was wonderful, loved having the Laverbread, my husband loved the Welsh Rabbit. Had a great time walking around Brecon, great location. Was no trouble to book us into the local Bistro.
“Fabulous!”
Me and my partner stayed at the coach house for the weekend for a family wedding. We felt like we were in a home away from home, made to feel welcomed from the beginning. The room we had was well equipped and cosy with everything we needed for our stay. The breakfast was superb, I had scrambled eggs with salmon. The eggs were the best I have had anywhere.. I was incredibly impressed. We would recommend this B and B to anyone and would definitely stay again 🙂 thank you. Krisssy
“Great B&B”
We stayed last autumn for just one night. Lovely B&B, comfortable rooms and great breakfast. Only a couple of minutes from the river and the town centre, and a good base for exploring the area. We'll be back, hopefully for more than one night next time.
“A lovely place”
We stayed two nights and our room on the first floor was a really good size and spotlessly clean. Even though its on quite a busy road we were not disturbed in any way by outside noise. The bathroom although small is more than adequate with an electric shower so lots of hot water. Lots of finishing touches and even an electric fan which was really useful as it was quite warm. The breakfasts were beautiful. Lots of choice and huge 😉 Friendly hosts, always greeted with a smile. A short walk into Brecon.
“A wonderful bed and breakfast!”
A beautiful b&b with fantastic hosts. Outstanding breakfast that kept us going all day. The best Welsh rarebit you will ever taste! Lovely rooms and a delightful garden to relax in. Recommend most highly.
“A pleasure to stay!”
I have visited Brecon many times over the last three decades, and know it well. However, this was my first time at The Coach House. I doubt it'll be my last.
Put simply, this is an excellent place to stay. Our room was comfortable, extremely well furnished and adequately sized. It was a little on the warm side, but I can hardly blame the proprietors for the heat wave that accompanied our stay.
Position was good, with the centre of Brecon a short walk away and with adequate, free parking to the rear of the building. This parking was easily accessible via a gate at the back of a small but pretty garden, which guests were free to use.
As for the breakfasts - sublime! Between the two of us, we hugely enjoyed four different breakfasts from the impressive menu. Each was cooked to perfection and presented in an exceedingly attractive manner. I'm afraid the Welsh names escape me but, as others have commented, the Welsh Rarebit and the laverbread, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon dishes were simply superb.
The cost of our two-day stay was very competitive, and in my view represented excellent value for money. David K
“Lovely breakfast, friendly service”
My boyfriend and I just stayed at the Coach House on a one night whirlwind tour of Brecon, the room was very clean and comfortable, really friendly and helpful hosts and breakfast was absolutely superb - the rarebit is a must! Easy walking distance to the town means there's plenty of good choices for eating in the evening. We would love to stay again!
“Top quality b&b”
A wonderful two nights at the Coach House, great base for our walking trip in the Brecons. Very high quality accommodation, the breakfast certainly as other reviewers have noted is exceptional (smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and lavar bread a new experience and fab), will be back! Great hosts giving us advice on walks and driving routes and nice to be able to get a drink when back from walking before going out to eat (Robertos Italian another recommendation)
“outstanding”
Now this is how a B&B should be. Great location, superb, clean, really comfortable accommodation, great food, perfect hosts.
Came here with four buddies on a walking holiday and could not have chosen a better place to stay
That's it. 10/10. Five stars. Best ever! Simon M
“Fabulous Service”
My boyfriend and I have just got back from a lovely two night stay at the Coach House and I would thoroughly recommend it. From the warm welcome by our host to the fabulous welsh breakfasts and the spotlessly clean room we stayed in, it certainly lived up to it's reputation on tripadvisor! There is plenty of parking and yet it's only a 5 minute walk into Brecon town centre which made it the perfect base for exploring the amazing scenery around the Brecon Beacons by day and enjoying a nice meal in the town by night. And what made it a cut above the rest was the friendly and helpful tips we received from our hosts, which ranged from good pubs and places to eat in Brecon to the best walking routes for the waterfalls. Nothing was too much trouble and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Coach House again. Cardifftraveller_13
“Fantastic birthday treat!”
We have just returned from a weekend at The Coach House. My husband had booked it as a surprise for my birthday. When we arrived I noticed the sign said 'Contemporary' and wondered if this would be a good or bad thing as we tend to stay in more traditional B&B's and cottages. But The Coach House was lovely, really nicely done, it was contemporary but not in a minimalist and plain sort of way, which I was worried it might be, instead pleasantly surprised by how cosy and classy it was. It is on a main road but this didn't bother us at all as with the windows shut you could hardly hear it and it didn't seem to be so busy at night anyway. The breakfast was amazing, a really interesting menu, it was the first time I had tried laver bread and it was very nice with the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, just wish I had a larger appetite so I could have finished it all off!! Jen and Andy Roberts
“A Beacon of a B&B”
We've just returned from a terrific two night stay at the Coach House. Any reservations of being in a double room on the road vanished in a nano-second given the convenient location, friendly welcome and a room that was peaceful, tasteful and immaculate with a super deep tub (complete with bath salts!) to sink into after a long day walking. The breakfasts were to die for: the Welsh Rarebit and Eggs Brychan were a feast for both eyes and belly and kept us fully fuelled for walking. Highly recommended.
“Lovely Stay”
We have just spent 3 nights over Easter at this lovely B&B. The rooms are clean and decorated in a nice modern style. I liked how each day the room was tidied, new towels provided, fresh water, biscuits and coffee all replenished, a touch which not all hotels do. The owners make you feel extremely welcome and cannot do enough for you. We were even treated to a cream egg on Easter Sunday and a hot cross bun with our breakfast. Breakfast itself was a delight - extremely tasty and I would recommend the Welsh Rarebit - delicious! Brecon is a lovely town to visit with some fantastic walking on the doorstep. We enjoyed Zeeras indian restaurant and the Fellin Fach Griffin (short taxi) was superb. All in all a great easter weekend. Thank you so much!
Room Tip: Room 7 was on the 2nd floor, large king size bed
“A fantastic place to stay.”
We have just spent three nights at the Coach House and had a fabulous stay. This is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. It was also really warm, which given the snow outside was very welcome.
The breakfast was the best we have ever had. Usually in B&Bs a vegetarian breakfast is the normal breakfast with all the meat taken away. The breakfast in the Coach House actually caters for vegetarians and serves rarebit and Glamorgan sausages.
Added to this was the very friendly welcome we received from the hosts. Mark gave us lots of excellent advice for walks in the area and directions for how to get there. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is travelling to the area.
“Charming hosts and comfy beds”
This was my second stay at the Coach House and it was lovely to be immediately recognised, even though I hadn't said I was returning. I was in Brecon for business and, after a long journey from Manchester, was more than ready to relax. On my previous stay, I had eaten at the George and didn't want to do so again. I asked for a recommendation for dinner and was immediately offered the opportunity of 'eating in' - something I hadn't expected at all. A large gin and tonic was also offered - and delivered to my room. This is a B and B, not a hotel but the service just can't be beaten. My dinner was delicious, as was my 'full Welsh' for breakfast. The cooking is accomplished and the produce is decent quality, unlike that of many hotels.
The rooms are smart and comfortable and there's a armchair which is great - I so hate watching TV from a bed. The wifi is free, there's a bottle of water, toffees and choccy biscuits. What's not to like? I can't recommend The Coach House, and it's hosts, too highly.
“Well worth 5star gold”
We had a very warm welcome (on a very cold snowy day!), a lovely, spotlessly clean, room, breakfast was excellent and the price was very fair. We will certainly return. This place is a model for other B&B owners to aspire to.
“Fabulous B&B!”
We have just returned from 2 nights at The Coach House and would like to say what a fabulous hotel it is, we really can't find a bad word to say about it! The owners were really lovely, very polite and friendly and full of useful information and really made you feel welcome and like nothing was too much trouble! The room was lovely, clean, well equipped and decor was perfect! The breakfast......wow! Definitely the best hotel breakfast we have had. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again soon.
Katie and Neil Baron.
The Coach House is smack bang in the middle of Brecon Town and is nothing short of perfection, being a fabulous base for any traveller to the Beacons, Monmouthshire or the Black Mountains. My stay was short, only one night, but i felt at home and enjoyed the friendly, relaxed atmosphere they offered. They were very informative and receptive, offering us advice where to eat and drink in Brecon. The room was superb, nicely decorated with a really modern touch. I was amazed with the breakfast. The scrambled eggs, vegetarian Glamorgan sausage and Rarebit topped grilled tomatoes were delicious. I really couldn't fault the hotel and the hosts. My trip was business related but i wouldn't hesitate to go back for a chilled weekend away with my wife and daughter.
“Perfect B&B .”
Just got back from 2 nights at the Coach House and the only fault I can find , is that they have completely ruined me for any future breakfasts. Seriously good stuff. It was not only the food that was stellar , everything else was as well. Great location, easy parking & lovely hosts. The whole place was stylish & well thought-out without being stuffy or over the top. Most importantly , the beds were very comfortable & the bathrooms were well appointed & spacious. I particularly liked how outside each set of 2 rooms there was a small , sub-hallway, keeping everything quiet when you came in & up the stairs - nice touch. ( I find that sometimes at B&B's you feel like you are sneaking in past curfew at your parents’ house - trying not to make a sound. not so here) I hope my travels take me back to Brecon & if they do - I would definitely stay here again.
“Lovely Break in Brecon”
My Partner & I fancied a sporting trip to Brecon so needed somewhere to stay. We found The Coach House on Visit Wales website & checked the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking.
Given an earlier review I had worried parking may be an issue but when I arrived in Brecon during the early afternoon I easily found the Coach House & the small free public car park behind the B&B. I left the car in the car park & went off for a bike ride in the mountains whilst my partner went running, returning in time for our pre-booked check in at 5pm.
The room was lovely - simply & stylishly furnished with plenty of space, despite being one of the cheapest rooms in the B&B. My partner described it as looking better than it did on the website photos & exceeding expectations. The room was nice & warm, though the temperature dropped off overnight - perfect for a good nights sleep.
The B&B was a short walk into town for dinner & the electronic keyfob allowed easy access back into the B&B at the end of our evening.
Breakfast in the morning was great. We both had the full Welsh Breakfast but we also heard great feedback about the Welsh Rarebit, which came with several options.
We would definitely recommend The Coach House to anyone visiting Brecon & wouldn't hesitate to return again in future.
“The best B&B breakfast I've ever had”
Never written one of these before but everything about the place worked for me - and I'm really fussy. It's staff that make a hotel and the owners are just brilliant, prepared to do whatever you wanted. Coming and going was straightforward, and you were left to your own devices and not intruded upon. The room I was in was lovely and the whole place is rather cool. But the breakfast was the highlight. Absolutely stunning and almost worth visiting for that alone. The breakfast menu is incredible and my slight disappointment that I didn't get to try more there is just offset by the wonderful quality of the produce in the traditional cooked breakfast.
“Great place in Brecon!”
We spent a few days in The Coach House enjoying our stay. Brecon's weather wasn't so good but our host was very kind and helpful. Service was great and the place had a beautiful and relaxing minimalist design. Breakfast was exceptional, one of the best in our Welsh stay.
“Highly recommended”
My family and friends stayed here at the end of July for our daughter’s wedding. We were made to feel very welcome, the rooms are very tastefully designed with such amazing attention to detail and with a wonderful Welsh feel. The breakfast were delicious, nothing seemed to be to much trouble . Our special weekend was made even more special by staying here.
“Excellent bed AND breakfast”
Wonderful - very comfortable room and bed, genuinely hospitable hosts, truly exceptional breakfasts. We stayed over the Jubilee weekend, travelling daily to Hay for the festival. Spotlessly clean, all very fresh, light and stylishly furnished, with everything provided that you could wish for - perfect and only a few steps away from the town centre.
“Fabulous b&b in the heart of brecon”
Amazing bed and breakfast. Room was delightful and so clean and relaxing. Great location and amazing breakfast. The owners were so friendly and really welcoming! I'm looking forward to returning to the coach house!
“If Carlsberg did B&Bs.....”
...it would be the Coach House, Brecon. This welcoming, boutique B&B thoroughly deserves its 5 Star AA rating.
Situated a few hundred yards from the river and Brecon town centre, the Coach House offers the perfect base for either walking into Town or exploring the spectacular local countryside. Our party were in Brecon for a long weekend, as wedding guests. Each couple, who are frequent travellers, was absolutely delighted with their accommodation. Rooms were spotlessly clean, individually decorated and well equipped with comfortable beds; flat screen TV; tea/coffee facilities, ipodstations, alarm clock and fantastic en suite facilities complete with 'posh' toiletries.
The breakfasts - wow! Food is quality, locally sourced and beautifully presented. It sets you up perfectly for the day ahead. We also enjoyed evening drinks in the lounge before our nights out. In warmer weather (than early March) these can be taken in the garden area.
The Coach House has a decent sized car park to the rear of the building. There is also a sizeable, free car park nearby.
In summary, the Coach House is a fantastic advert for Wales. Quality, value for money accommodation with great breakfasts & welcoming hosts. We will return !
“Beautiful Hotel in a Great Location”
We really enjoyed our stay.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable and there is a very nice choice for breakfast.
The staff are friendly and very helpful with local info and hints on where to go.
We will definitely stay here in the future.
Its about a two minute walk to the shops, restaurants and bars. They have parking and also there is a car park a minute walk away.
“A warm welcome in the hillsides of the Brecon Beacons National Park”
After a long day it was a joy to walk through the front door of this welcoming place- candlelit, scented and warm. The rooms are perfectly formed with lovely finishing touches. Breakfast was a real highlight. This place really has a fantastic sense of place and I would love to return and spend more time here.
Just got home after an all too short walking break and had to write a review on the Coach House. My husband and I stayed for three nights, Saturday to Monday inc. We had room number 2 at the front. There was no street noise at all - maybe because it's out of season?, certainly nothing to disturb us. The room was small but beautifully decorated. The bath with shower was very welcome after a hard days walking with plenty of shampoo, shower gel, bath salts, facial cleansing bars, cotton pads etc.
The breakfasts are excellent - definitely recommended are the eggs Brychen & anything with bacon in. The gentle Celtic music accompanying breakfast is played at just the right volume and the candles & the fantastic photos on the wall make for a really relaxing start to the day. A lot of thought has gone into the Coach House accommodation and we would recommend it to anyone & hope to stay again. Thank you very much.
“Consistant Top Venue”
I often stay in Brecon now due to business connections. I tried several places before discovering The Coach House & what a find, I only stay there now & have taken my husband there for a weekend away he loved it too.
They offer a very contemporary feel with absolutely delicious food in an ideal resting place in Brecon within walking distance of the shops & restaurants in the town centre, not to mention all the fantastic walks & scenery.
“B&B Diamond.”
From the moment I arrived I felt welcomed and nothing was too much trouble, the owner was very accommodating. The coach house is a high standard of B&B the room I stayed in reflected this. Quiet and relaxing. Thank you.
“Excellent modern B&B”
Not the cheapest I'm sure but a prefect modern guest house. Clean lines, bright rooms and the cosiest beds in Wales. Just spent a couple a nights here and normally don't write reviews but thought this place deserved one. It was just what we wanted.
“'Calming'”
Supreme b+b nice and close to Brecon centre. Our host was more than helpful being a true ambassador for Brecon and its walks. Breakfasts were filling and well cooked and the room was spotless well stocked with teabags etc and tastefully decorated. If one small criticism it would be squeaky bed! But definitely will use again.
“Highly recommended!!”
Stayed for a weekend with partner, the coach house could not have been more perfect.
Incredibly welcoming and prepared to go out of their way to help and give good advice.
The breakfast was amazing - plenty to choose from, cooked and otherwise, and presented beautifully. Set us up well for each day's walking, for which the coach house is very well positioned. Even the packed lunches were excellent!
The guest house itself is very clean, stylish and creates a relaxing atmosphere.
“Another amazing stay”
My partner and I recently stayed at the Coach House for a 5 night stay. Even though we have stayed a number of times over the last several years since the Coach House opened, every time we have a superb experience. We have never been able to find fault with anything at all. The breakfasts are imaginative and always fill you up for a day out walking. One of our favourites is the Welsh Rarebit, must not be missed. The bedrooms in the Coach House and I must say we have stayed in I think nearly all of them over the years are contemporary, well appointed and with all the home comforts you could wish for. The beds are luxury and so comfy which is very welcome after a long day out in the Beacons, spare pillows are available in the wardrobe should you require them. All the rooms are en-suite and have lovely bathrooms, some with bath and shower and others with shower only, along with toiletries and lovely white towels. Each morning the rooms are serviced if you wish whilst you are out enjoying the beautiful Welsh countryside. In the evening Brecon town centre is a 5 minute walk away and both Marc and Tony are always happy to recommend local quality restaurants to eat at, two being Robertos and the Bridge Café both of which we frequent ourselves. If you are thinking of visiting the Brecon Beacons we would highly recommend the Coach House and we hope that you would enjoy the experience that we have come to love.
“A Warm Welsh Welcome”
Stay somewhere to explore the Welsh Mountains and local food.
The Coach House provides a welcome stress free stay.
Every room is a paradise of freshness and cleanliness better than a 5 star hotel!
Friendly service with excellent advice of where to spend your days. If you want wonderful meals insider knowledge of local restaurants and a free booking service is provided. The lasting impression of a brilliant breakfast will want you returning for more !
“A warm welcome in Brecon”
I can't recommend the Coach House highly enough. Everything about the place has the feel of quality and the owners really go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay. I can honestly say that the breakfasts were some of the best I've had in a B&B, with lovely ingredients which were all sourced locally - the 'delux' Welsh rarebit is definitely worth a try. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and location is ideal being on a five minute walk from the centre of Brecon.
“Lovely weekend in Brecon”
What can I say; nothing to fault this lovely hotel, which is ideally suited, 5 minutes walk from the centre of Brecon. Breakfast fantastic whether it be the full Welsh or smoked salmon, scrambled egg and lava bread. Bed very comfortable, everything very clean, and nice toiletries.
Most importantly arrived to a very warm welcome, already planning our next trip to The Coach House...
Room Tip: Book early to avoid disappointment!
Reviewed 5 September 2011
Booked over the phone. No problem with the check-in time restrictions. Rooms small and elegant, very clean, and well stocked. Breakfasts were superb, and all advice given was useful and sent us to great places. Nearby car parking good. Some traffic noise with the windows open. Good value, would recommend to anyone visiting the area. Geoffrey W
“Excellent B&B, very modern and clean in a good location!”
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Coach House. The standards set by the owners are high and the place is immaculate. A very warm welcome was received, and the owners' customer service was excellent, without being over-powering. The breakfast is a delight, with a very interesting selection of menu options. The Welsh rarebit was the best I've tasted! I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.
“Lovely hotel in Brecon”
Lovely hotel in Brecon; a short stroll from centre (5 mins). The quality and high standard of this little hotel was fantastic. The owners have furnished the hotel to a high standard, but with a warm and welcoming feel. We were greeted by the manager who was very welcoming and couldn't be more helpful. Offering us advice on best places to visit and recommendations for places to eat in town. He also went out of his way to provide literature on places to interest for our onward trip round Wales. Would stay again.
“Second time around and still as good”
We returned to The Coach House for another stay as we knew we would get a warm welcome, fantastic food and comfortable accommodation. We weren't disappointed.
If, like us you encounter some grim weather, don't worry as there's a drying room - something lacking in a few places we have visited but so very useful.
“A weekend in Brecon”
I booked to stay at The Coach House via the internet as their website was clear and not overstated. I can only agree with other reviews when I say this is a really good value luxury and contemporary B&B. The breakfast menu is superb to say the least and it was difficult to choose what speciality to have when you know you only have two days. The host was very nice and willing to advise on places to visit and directions which gave the best views of the Beacons. If ever we return to Brecon or know of people visiting we will certainly recommend they stay at this delightful little B&B.
“Great hotel, would definitely stay again”
This is a great hotel. Really friendly service. Great breakfast. The entire hotel is spotless and very homely. Extremely comfortable bed, so much so I had difficulty getting out of it in the morning! Brecon is a lovely little town.

“Fantastic - lovely welcome and very helpful”
Booked the coach house quite last minute and what a find! not only incredibly helpful but a very warm welcome. Ideal location for the town, not too far away but also not so close its noisy. Room was immaculate and breakfast each day was great. The small touches make difference here, we did some walking so it was good to be able to kick your boots off and leave them to dry in the hall, and they even offered to dry stuff in case we were wet. Would stay again in a heart beat.
Also, very good in booking a local restaurant!
“Wow! 5 Star Chic Accommodation in Brecon”
What a pleasant surprise, for once somewhere of quality in Brecon, A Breakfast to die for and a "Welsh" welcome second to none! My room was comparable to chic hotels I stay in London, with all the little "extra's" you'd only normally expect in a large quality hotel, I will certainly recommend to my friends looking to stay in this beautiful part of Wales - A real Gem! Well Done!
“A quaint & pleasant stay in brecon”
Had a quaint & pleasant weekend stay with my wife. Very close to the small town of Brecon & its lovely views. Most of this was in walking distance.
Room was excellent & had a contemporary feel to it. Breakfast was wonderful as I had a full "welsh " breakfast. Good value for money visit.

“Amazing hospitality & friendliness with delicious breakfasts”
After a long journey we arrived early morning at the Coach House. Check-in was smooth and friendly and our room was immediately available and very clean and tidy, decorated in a contemporary style.
The public areas and rooms are decorated with many fine photographs.
The request not to bring muddy or wet gear into the house itself was appreciated as this prevents dirt being transported into the rooms. Providing a drying room is a great facility, particularly when the weather is wet.
Most of the reviews here mention the breakfast, and this is not surprising as the food at the Coach House is amazing, if we had to pick a favourite the welsh rarebit would have to be the winner.
All in all we were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of our stay and when returning to Brecon we will be sure to stop at the Coach House.
“Wonderful place to stay in Brecon, highly recommended.”
We stayed here for 2 nights and were very impressed with the quality and style of the whole place. It was exceptionally clean and great value. The breakfast was wonderful with a varied choice to suit all tastes. The location is great being only 4/5 mins from the centre of Brecon. We will be back to stay very soon.
“More luxurious than our stay at the Marriott the night before!”
Easy to find, private off-street parking, excellent location for the Beacons, warm hospitality, comfy bed, scrumptious breakfast.
Our room (no 7) was very nice, far better than the one we had at the Marriott St Pierre the previous night in fact. I had just the best night's sleep in a long time as the bed was so comfortable.
There have been comments about the road noise in previous reviews, I have to say that I was a bit concerned before our stay but I needn't have worried. Brecon is a town, NOT a metropolis. The "traffic" is light as there is a by-pass around the town and most vehicles use this and not the road outside the Coach House. Believe me; I would have noticed any noise if there had been any! We kept the velux window to the rear of our room open all night and couldn't hear a thing. The front windows are double glazed if, for some reason, you feel the need for an airtight room.
The breakfasts?.....wow, what a treat! The Welsh Rarebit & Buck Rarebit were absolutely delicious, my better half was impressed with his choice of Eggs Brychan and the "full Welsh" breakfast. My pet hate are the foil wrapped butter pats and fiddly plastic jam portions but none of that here, all fresh and tasty. There was more than enough to set us up for a day on the Beacons,
“Pure Bliss”
The Coach House in Brecon is much more than a B&B they are like a 5 star hotel, the location in Brecon is excellent meaning you are easy reach of things to do in Brecon. The quality of the rooms is outstanding, the bathroom is wonderfully comfortable with lots of extras added to the normal amount of toiletries provided.
The Breakfast choice is superb, nothing is too much trouble and I felt that they made every guest feel very special indeed.
The next time I am in Brecon I will without any doubt stay there ( as long as they are not full) they are very popular, This is where to stay in Brecon.
“Amazing guesthouse”
We stayed here for a night on our way to St Davids and wished that we could have stayed longer. What an outstanding guesthouse this is with its beautiful art works and tasteful touches. Our room was the best we have ever had with THE most comfortable beds that we have ever slept in. Breakfast in the morning was served in the lovely dining room accompanied by a CD of soft Welsh harp music and the food served was superbly presented - I recommend Eggs Brychan, scrambled eggs with larva bread. We will certainly be returning here and would recommend The Coach House to anyone wanting a peaceful comfortable stay.
“Splendid”
Our first visit to the Coach House and I now feel happy in the knowledge that we have found a gem in this place in Brecon.
The dining room was fresh and clean and the breakfast was divine and could not fault the place at all.
Will definitely be going back to the Coach House and would like to congratulate the owners in making this into a fabulous place to stay and relax.
Only downside if there is any was that if you are paying by credit card there is a 3% charge. Pay cash!!
“great place to stay in Brecon”
Stayed for two nights in July as part of a trip around Wales. Celebrated our Silver wedding whilst there. Lovely rooms as we were on the top floor we had no noise problems, We had a very wet day and found our hosts very helpful in drying or wet kit. Breakfast was great and cooked fresh which is the only way to get good results. Our hosts were friendly and informative. I would happily stay there again.

“"lovely Inn"”
Despite a disappointing view from outside one walked into a warm welcome, beautiful decor and very comfortable bedrooms with lovely photos of the area adorning the walls.
The breakfasts were wonderful and it is only a few minutes walk from the centre of the charming town of Brecon.
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and certainly recommend The Coach House.

“Warm Welcome”
My partner and i stayed at the Coach House whilst attending the Royal Welsh show 2009, we arrived late yet received the warmest of welcomes, the rooms were spotless and modern yet with had an extremely comfortable and homely feel. The only niggle of my stay was that we could not stay longer...we will be back, Many Thanks!!

“A great find in the Brecon area!”
An excellent place to stay in Brecon. Very convenient location, comfortable and stylish, very welcoming hosts, and a superb breakfast menu. Thoroughly recommended! Janice and John Hardee
“Spotless, comfortable and stylish”
The Coach House really lives up to its website - contemporary, stylish and very welcoming. Everything is of an extremely high standard - including the warm and professional hospitality and superb food. However, don't come here expecting to stay on any slimming diet; they don't like you to go away hungry. And don't be fooled when they tell you there's only two eggs in Eggs Brychan - unless they keep ostriches in the back garden!
Thank you for a wonderful stay - I can't imagine that anyone would stay anywhere else in Brecon.
“Another Magnificent Stay at the Coach House”
Yet another magnificent stay at The Coach House. This was our 25th visit and each time we see more changes which improve the guest house. If there was a 6 star rating this definitely deserves it.
When you visit The Coach House you will realise why we have visited as many times as we have. The rooms are impeccable, with beautiful furnishings and excellent quality en-suite bathrooms with lovely white towels. The rooms are serviced each day if you require, to an exceptional high standard and every care is given to the attention of detail.
Breakfasts, well what can you say, we have tried them all and every one of them is stunning. The food is beautifully cooked and presented using fresh local produce. Any of the breakfasts set you up for a great day out walking or partaking of other activities in the Brecon Beacons and surrounding areas.
We are back again at weekend for our 26th visit and will return again in October - we cannot stay away - we would highly recommend you stay at the Coach House when in Brecon and experience what we have come to love for the past 6 years.
“Stunning Chic - you wont want to leave”
A hotel with stunning chic, the coach house is a real one off. You could not ask for a better setting with the town of Brecon a 2 minute stroll over the bridge.
Inside the first big talking point is the room. it was stylish and practical with loads of little extra touches that I was not expecting. Everyone is commenting about the food, the cooked breakfast was perfection, you wont find better anywhere. In the reception area there are comfortable chairs to relax in after a morning out walking.
Nothing seemed to much trouble for the owner who gave good advice on where to eat in Brecon and had excellent knowledge of walks to undertake.
The hotel has a fabulous contemporary feel to it. On leaving I found out that I had stayed in one of the standard rooms and that they had even plusher rooms available.
Overall this hotel is fantastic value. The thing that sets it apart from others is the attention to detail
“Full of Praise”
A wonderful place with big, comfortable and clean rooms. The breakfast is huge, delicious and freshly prepared - a gourmet feast, especially the Buck Rarebit.
“Divine”
Soft pillows, fluffy duvet, great breakfast. We were in Brecon for the St Basils charity walk. This meant we had to be up and out by 7.30am many thanks for providing the breakfast tray those croissants really helped us get round the 28 mile circuit!
“A true Welsh welcome with luxury as standard”
This is the type of place which makes you proud to be Welsh. I slept like a log and ate like a king. Every aspect of my stay was just as I expected and after a long week working at Hay it was the perfect place to chill. Nothing was too much trouble and judging by my fellow guests it is attracting a worldwide audience for its Eggs Brychan - YOU must try it as well as fresh fruit salad, Legendary.
Can't wait to go back and I saw a pair of baby otters playing on the river bank as I walked back from town one night. Brecon has a lot of things going for it but the Coach House and the otters stole the show for me!
“Luxurious accommodation, excellent service and attention to detail...”
We spent three lovely nights at The Coach House over the May bank holiday. From the moment we arrived the service we received was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble, from printing maps for local walks, booking restaurants and recommending places to see. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and well furnished. The breakfasts were possibly the best we had both experienced, and the wide choice made a refreshing change from the regular B&B offerings. We will definitely be back in the near future for another break in the Brecon Beacons and a stay at the Coach House.
“Good Location, Clean and Well Appointed Rooms, First Class Breakfast”
The location of this guest house is ideal for anyone visiting the town of BRECON. Literally a 5 minute walk into the centre. The room we stayed in (Garden View) was spotless and as for the Breakfast, I don't think I have had better than this even whilst staying at some five star hotels. Really friendly people who go out of their way to help and came up with some good recommendations as to where to eat in the evenings. You won't be disappointed if you choose to stay here. Mike York
“a great B&B”
light, clean and modern... fabulous Welsh breakfasts... if in the area don't stay anywhere else...
“A wonderful B&B”
We had a fantastic night's stay at the Coach House - the room was stylish and comfortable, warm hosts and the breakfast was superb. A really fantastic place to stay.
“Outstanding!”
We stayed at The Coach House for a night in between two days of walking on the Brecon beacons. Our first day's Walking was amazing but the sleet had been relentless and we were soaked to the bone! We arrived at the Coach house and received a very warm welcome at the door.
We had booked a King size room and when we were shown to the room our hearts lifted at the abundant contemporary luxury of the room. The accommodation is truly on par with any contemporary five star hotel and the attention to detail surpasses all expectations of a B+B.
We felt that nothing was too much trouble while we were there.
The breakfast menu provides a fabulous choice of dishes and accommodates all diets. The portions set you up for a day on the beacons and the ingredients have been sourced with the same exacting standards that permeate the whole business.
If you are planning a stay in Brecon, do not stay anywhere else! If you are not planning a stay in Brecon, it's about time you considered it!
“A top B & B”
We spent 4 nights at The Coach House in September and were delighted with our choice. The welcome was wonderful and we immediately felt "at home" in this special B&B. Our room was at the back of the house which was quiet and looked out onto the lovely garden. The room was modern, stylish and very comfortable and the breakfast was a gastronomic delight. The use of local produce in innovative recipes made us really look forward to breakfast each morning. Well done.
We have stayed in many B&B's over 3 visits to the UK and this is one of the very best.

“Fantastic service, amazing breakfasts, we loved our stay at the coach house”
The warm welcome & the "beyond the call of duty" service made our stay a very special experience. This guest house provides luxury with a homely feel with the bonus of the best breakfast we have ever had in a uk guest house. We'll definitely be returning, the Brecon Beacons are stunning, the perfect activities break.
“Excellent place to stay”
The Coach House is very comfortable and has style. A first class breakfast menu. Very friendly hosts ready to give advice and help on the local area. We will stay there again and would not hesitate to recommend the Coach House to anyone we know
“Best B&B Ever”
Stayed here for three nights and what a great B&B. Superb Hosts and very knowledgeable about the local area. Including recommendations. Room was a good size, clean, fresh & the bed was very comfy. Breakfast, what a breakfast. Excellent doesn't begin to describe how nice it was. Cooked to perfection....
“Extremely comfortable and enjoyable.”
We have stayed at this wonderful gem of 'guest accommodation' on a number of occasions over the past few years. Never have we been disappointed - the rooms are superbly furnished and everything looks and is perfect, right down to the last detail. The owners are always very knowledgeable about the area and also for directions and help with bookings...
“Superb food.”
Having stayed over in a few different accommodations in Wales, including most of the B&Bs, YHA, I ventured into the hotel market to gain a little more comfort. What a nice surprise. Top marks to the team at The Coach House. Room was clean, spacious and quiet, even when next to the main road. Breakfast was awesome.
